Super Sneak Peek

As fall would have it, yesterday was no exception. I found myself counting down to the scheduled session time, wondering if we would be rained out. It rained all day, but I still help out hope. Then, a half hour before the session, the skies cleared and the sun broke out into the most gorgeous light and we were ON! And so it goes for Autumn in Oregon.

Here's a super sneak peek for you from last night. I have several sessions scheduled soon, let's hope for "little miracles" for each. If not, it's "reschedule until we get it right" or next spring even I am afraid.

Enjoy, I hope to have the rest of these up within the week.

fun with the blues...

I have a blue image of my daughter here on my desk, and "K"'s Mom saw it an ogled over it. So I took a bit of time to play and here's what I came up with. People tend to love these or hate them. Personally I love anything non traditional, so this is fun for me!

10-19-2007 OK, so the general consensus from almost everyone is "Creepy"! Right on I say. It's the eyes and the milky glow... With Halloween right around the corner I guess it is only fitting! Sorry "K".....

Senior Portraits

Some of you that have been around my blog for a while may recognize this model-esk (is that even a word? Um no!) girl! I have had the pleasure of doing a session with her each year for 3 years now. It's so fun to watch clients grow up! I have literally watched her grow up as her Mother is a dear friend of mine.

Saturday we took off to a local park kind of off the map, and did some senior portraits. Some traditional and some very much not... Yep, she's a senior already! Seems just like yesterday she was 6 and tugging me down underwater in the pool with her friends. OK, I've embarrassed her enough no doubt! I will add more images to this post as I start to go through them, here's a super sneak peek for you guys! Stay tuned for more...

And a few more...

Black Stallion

Yesterday found me out in Eagle Creek Oregon once more, to shoot a full eqyptian black stallion. The time of day couldn't have been worse, but I rose to the challenge of shooting a black horse in full sun at high noon. These kind of assignments are so fun for me, they are a challenge, and keep me on my toes. Here's a couple of my picks from the shoot.

Blushing...

Here is an email I would like to share with everyone, I am blushing, but so very happy to be getting feedback like this from my clients! I really do try to get to know each and every client and to make every shoot personal and fun.

I would like to thank everyone for your genuine support and emails like this, they truly keep me going!

Hi Cyndie,

Here is my testimonial for your web site. I hope this helps and you realize how much we appreciated having you photograph our wedding.

Having Cyndie photograph my wedding was one of the best decisions I had made for my big day. Cyndie took time to get to know myself and fiance during our engagement session and was always just a phone call away. It was so easy to get a hold of her and she was always willing to work out details with us about our special day.

After the engagement session, my fiance and I felt like we knew Cyndie and she was a good friend, this made it very easy for us to be at ease during our wedding day photography and just be ourselves.

At the wedding Cyndie was everywhere! It was so great! She didn't miss a single shot and even got extras that were absolutely amazing and gorgeous. I had so much fun being myself, hanging out with my bridal party and Cyndie.

I love that Cyndie gives copyright releases to all of her images. Having access to all my wedding photos whenever I want is the best feeling, especially when I want to show them off, which is often.

I highly recommend Cyndie Planck Photography to anyone looking for a wedding photographer. I have already told many engaged friends about her.

Thanks so much for all your hard work and beautiful pictures Cyndie! My wedding album is so beautiful!!!

Our Newest Family Member

After almost 2 years of keeping an eye out for that perfect addition to our family, we have finally found her.

I am proud to introduce Chase, our newest family member! Adopted today, and we are all in love with her already. She's a 5 year old English Pointer. She is so sweet, well mannered, and seems so far to be exactly what we expected and dreamed of! She's pretty easy on the eyes too, look at that face! She wasn't exactly sure what the camera was all about, she'll get used to that in a hurry no doubt!

Mock Senior Portraits

OK, so Josh is only 16, not quite senior portraits. Since he was here visiting his Mom for a month we did up a great photo session. It was really fun, I hope I get a chance to shoot when you really are a senior, then we can compare them!

Here's a few to share from our session:

Backyard Visitor

I happened to be going into my kitchen for a drink of water, looked out the window, and this guy was visiting in our tree. I quickly ran for the camera, as I have tried to shoot him over the past 4 years to no avail. He is very very shy, I have only seem him a handful of times, and the second he sees me he is gone.

I feared it was our backyard squirrel he had in his possession, I didn't really have time to scrutinize as I held my lens up to the window pane and shot right through the glass (hence the bit of distortion) He gave me time for 5 rapid shots as he turned around on his perch, took his prize and moved on.

Looking at the image now, I wonder if this is a common sparrow, or one of our pair of beloved wild doves that visit twice daily. Guess we will find out. Any birders out there know exactly what this guy is? My guess would be a female, or juvenile Northern Harrier, but the circle pattern around the eye doesn't seem quite right to me. The long tail would narrow it down a bit I am sure....

I guess I can sacrifice a couple sparrows here and there to have a bird of prey 25 feet off my back window now and again!

A Home Office for ME!

Well, the time has finally arrived, no more coffee shop meetings! I officially have an office in our house now! I plan to add a bistro table and chairs to the left of my desk for clients to sit at, and of course more and larger images on the walls. (Now that I have a place for displays :) )

Of course the downside to all this is, I now have to keep the house clean!

Here's a couple of views. My desk is the one with the Mac...... The other work space is our PC station... Kewl huh?

The colors aren't real true. The walls by my desk are like the color of a "cherry-mocha" The other side of the room is for lack of a better description "peach-flesh"

What do you think?

Police Dogs

Today we ran up to a local K-9 police dog event. It was really cool to watch. I was dying shooting from the grandstand, it was way to far away. I could just imagine the shots I could get if I was right out there where the OP (on site photographer) was! It would have been so cool to be out on that field shooting! Here's are a couple of shots from the sidelines just for fun, this was the agility class...

Oh, how I wish I could of been this guy :)......... Heck, I would second shoot anytime!

Tubbie Toes

After a 2 hour bath, dance in the shower, bath combo this afternoon (yep 2 hours!) my daughter was showing me her feet afterwards, and I thought, HEY, photo opp! I shot these with available light from our sliding glass doors.

Here are some resulting images.
