Nature Park Fun

Today was a really fun day, I loaded up my favorite subject to shoot (my dearest daughter, the most photographed kid in the world it seems like) and we ran out to the "Nature Park". She was pretty much in a "I want to be a tough girl" mode, so we went with that.

Here are just a few of the shots I took today, like em?

Of course this next one was photo-shopped. I wanted something to get artsy, I really like the effect....

Experimenting

This is an image I took yesterday that I sat down and had time to play with today. I have seen a couple of really well known horse photographers doing this type of portrait/art technique on images, and decided to give it a try. Seldom do I find time just to play these days....

It would be a great way to hide an awful background, but what I envision is a huge canvas wall portrait... What do ya think?

Summer Wedding

My congratulations to Heather and Tom.

It was so much fun to photograph this couple, they were wonderful. The wedding was gorgeous, and the day was perfect! Many happy years to come for you both, best of wishes to you two, and thank you for choosing me to record your special day!

Cutie Pies!

At a recent family shoot, this brother and sister stole my heart. I had so much fun, and just couldn't stop shooting. Everything seemed to be magic, and I hope they love the images as much as I did!

Thanks for such a great day!

Bad Blogger

Well, slap my hands, I have been a very bad blogger!

It has been a fun filled and extremely busy summer for me so far. On top of shooting so much great stuff, I have had the pleasure of having my mother in law stay with us for the past month, visiting from South Africa! It really was a pleasure, and we were sad to have her go yesterday. We toured the States of Oregon and Washington and got in as much site seeing along the way as we could. I am sure we wore her out! She will no doubt have to go home and rest up.

Having said that, in between, I have done quite a few shoots! I will post from a couple next.

Also, stay tuned, I have dropped the ball on my first ever contest, and will be revealing the winner in next months newsletter and here as well soon!

Thank You

A warm thank you goes out to all who stopped by the PacNWHorse.com booth at the Arabian Championships in Salem last week. I was not able to attend, so Beth from "The Sandland Group" had 6 of my images, framed and on display along with offering my business cards out on her table.

I am told my photography got a lot of attention and positive comments. Several people even inquired about purchasing prints!

I must say I am flattered and honored, it is my intention to offer some fine art prints for sale in the near future. With summer upon us, and me in full shooting mode, it will be fall before I can get galleries together and begin to offer prints for sale. If you were at the show and would like to purchase and image, send me an email please, I will gladly make up a signed 8x10 print without a frame for $39.99. Framing additional.

Baby photo contest has been extended!

For those of you who do not get our newsletter (you're missing out :) ) Someone mentioned to me that this was not posted here! We have an update on the baby photo contest as follows...

It has come to my attention that there are still a lot of expecting "mothers" out there that would love a chance to enter. We are extending our previous deadline until July 15th to give everyone a chance. Here is a re-post of the previously mentioned contest happening now with a few changes to update it:

We are having a baby photo contest, any kind of baby, human, equine, you name it, as long as it was born this year.

Two ways to win: Send in a photo that you have taken of your "baby", or sign up for our newsletter (or get a friend too and mention your name) and be entered to win a free photo shoot. Please be sure to include the baby's details! (Name, Mother, Father, date born, vitals, farm name, whatever applies) and we will post them on our blog as they come in through-out the month.

Prize includes a one hour photo session resulting in 12 - 20 image proofs online and one 8x10 photograph. If you are not local or have no need for a photo shoot, you may email us an image and we will make you your own coffee mug or mouse pad with your baby's image on it.

*Travel expenses for travel over 45 miles to be paid by the winner. Additional prints or image files may be purchased at published rates. The winner will be drawn randomly on July 16h from all eligible entries and posted on our blog. Session must be scheduled before July 30th 2007 and finished before Sept 15 2007 or prize is forfeit.

You're not to late, get those photos in! Check out all the entries on our Blog. Type in keyword "contest" to bring up baby contest posts.

Summer-time

A quick hello to everyone, I haven't had much time to post this past month. I've had lots of photography, family visiting and traveling, with more planned!

I recently purchased a new camera and headed out to our zoo for some practice, here's a couple shots to share and keep things interesting.

I have shoots this weeks, so hopefully I can make time to post a few shots! Thanks or checking in!

One more for the baby photo contest!

And one more baby contest entry from "Star Creek Arabians & Pintos @ Lazy Hawk Ranch"

Just a reminder: Please remember, this is an opportunity to brag about your foals and show off photos. We will be drawing the winner randomly from all of the entries, it's not a photo contest :) So please, send in those photos if you like! And yes, you may enter more than one baby.

Our last baby is finally here...
It’s a boy!

Beaus Angel X Black

What a fantastic ending to the 2007 foaling season!

We are extremely excited about this boy!

A smashing filly!

No doubt this is a "smashing" filly. Recently I was hired by this client to take "baby" photos of her new filly.

The customer was thrilled with what we got, so for me, I did my job, and the shots turned out great for an 18 day old foal. What do you all think?

Cute baby!

Just thought I would share this guy, I snapped his photos thru the fence while I was on location to shoot another filly (the one above this post) He is too cute not to share!

Paint fun....

I recently got to visit Binkerd Performance Horses, a mostly paint horse barn, with a few other breeds also, I think we shot 17 horse and owner combos in one day! I took so many many many photos, and they are almost all great! I could never pick any one favorite, here are just a very few samples from the day.... I have no idea where to even begin on choices, so these are done, I will use them..... Thank you to everyone, the day went pretty smooth considering the opportunity for chaos! Everyone did so AWESOME! The mood was fun, and the place , horses and people were gorgeous, who could ask for more!
