Fine Art

I have this "fine Art" assignment that has been driving me crazy, I am a portrait-person-animal type photographer mostly, not abstract and fine artsy usually.... I am finding this is really fun! Here are a couple of shots I took today, it's nice to get a bit out of my comfort zone and play once in a while! It still may not be "fine art" but it's closer for me...

Don't forget, you can click on the image for a bigger view of it.

And of course, something a little different with "Summer" too:

April

Wow, It's April already, time is still flying by. Here's a few shots I took playing around in the back yard today. I just wanted to share... I have sessions coming up soon, but don't forget to book with me if you want to get in on some great spring images, it won't last long!

Imagine this being your child :)

Chick-Tych

Well, here's my final image after I played with it for a while..... You can click on it for a larger view.

Easter Chicks

I was just having some fun with overexposure for effect...... and breaking all the rules and making it work, like the rule of 2/3rds, too much background, out of focus....etc..... What do you think?

Happy Easter

Time flies

Hi everyone,

Time sure flies doesn't it? Spring is here it seems. We are getting nicer weather, and The NW Horse Fair and Expo is next week! Drop by the booth to say hi and enter to win a personally signed, artist's original, metallic canvas 16x20 print.

Hope to see you there and put faces to some of these email names!

Fun at Scottsdale!

Well, regretfully I am back from a way-too-short trip to Scottsdale Az. I went down 3 days this last week and shot to my heart's content. I got to play and get as creative or as straight forward as I wanted, it was a blast!

I used this as a spring exercise to refresh my skills and I challenged myself to shoot everything manually. For the most part I did, and it really paid off. Here are a few images to share, I will be adding more as I get them edited. Enjoy!

More from yesterday

Here's a few more shots to share from yesterday's shoot.

A super sneak peek....

This is "Dice" a very handsome black and white saddlebred stallion I had the pleasure of shooting today. I am actually going to edit these in the morning so I will add some more to share when I am done. We're all fighting this nasty cold this week, so I am going to just go take it easy tonight. Enjoy

Scottsdale, here I come.

I will be at the Scottsdale Arabian Show on Feb 19th through the 22nd this year. Yes in about 2 weeks. I am taking my photography gear of course, but I am not going as a shooter there, basically a tourist. Although I will be shooting like mad no doubt, and if anyone wants me to shoot, let me know, we can hook up and I'll snap a few shots for you of course.

What I take on my own time, I will post in an online gallery for people to look through afterwards. I'm just excited to be going and have the opportunity. If anyone wants to meet up and hang out, just email me, we'll work something out!

I can't wait, it can't get here fast enough!

Newest Marketing stuff

I have been busy these past few days. In between working I have been, well, working!

Here are the rough draft pages of a "portfolio" book I am making to put on display in a booth at a couple of upcoming events. I will sit on it for a few days before I send it to print. Does anything especially jump out to you that is good or bad? I still have time to make changes. :)

These will be 10x10 pages, so they are canvased as the book would be open 10x20. You can click on them to see bigger images.

New marketing materials

Since shooting is a bit slow, I am taking this time to get caught up on some much needed marketing materials, etc. Getting ready for 2008! (which is here already) Here's a post card I did up, it's an oversized card, 5.5 in X 8.5 in:

casual portraits

It's nice to be shooting a bit again after the holidays. Here are a couple shots from a very casual session I did yesterday.

Client Work

YES, I am available to photograph your dog(s). Just give me a call or shoot me an email and we can set it up. You don't have to worry, we can almost always shoot around the weather. Here's the cutest puppy ever that I shot today...

You can see the rest of the shoot here: Aussie Puppy

More dogs

Well, as times would have it, I am shooting lots of my dogs these days. Today we went on a long walk and it was just gorgeous out, cold, but very pretty.

I am beginning work on a new site with cool flash and galleries, but it could be 6 months until it goes online still. All in the plans though, I'm excited about that.

Slow.........

We ran out to the Oregon Coast today. It was wonderful! The weather was even better than here in town. Here's a couple shots of the dogs, seems like that's all I am shooting these days..... I'll add more as I go.

I am completely enjoying this little slow time in shooting. I pretty much took December off. I have lots of projects coming soon, so I will take what I can get for relaxation now!
